Evaporator

An evaporator is a type of heat exchanger device that facilitates evaporation by utilizing conductive and convective heat transfer, which provides the necessary thermal energy for phase transition from liquid to vapour. Within evaporators, a circulating liquid is exposed to an atmospheric or reduced pressure environment causing it to boil at a lower temperature compared to normal atmospheric boiling.

Condenser

Condenser is a heat exchanger used to condense a gaseous substance into a liquid state through cooling. In doing so, the latent heat is released by the substance and transferred to the surrounding environment. Condensers are used for efficient heat rejection in many industrial systems. Heat Exchanger Installation Precautions

The heat exchanger should undergo a water pressure test at 1.5 times the maximum working pressure. The steam pressure of steam should not be less than the steam pressure of 0.3MPa, and the hot water part should not be less than 0.4MPa. Maintain the pressure for 10 minutes under test pressure.


The heat exchanger should have smoke exhaust space, that is, the distance between its head and the wall or roof should not be less than the length of the heat exchanger, and the width of the operating passage of the equipment should not be less than 0.8 meters.


The installation height of various valves and instruments should be easy to operate and observe.


The vertical distance from the top of the heat exchanger (usually the safety valve) to the lowest point of the building structure should meet the requirements of installation testing and should not be less than 0.200 meters.

 

The Precautions For Heat Exchanger Operation

 

 

● When using on a new process pipeline, please pay attention to eliminate debris in the pipeline to avoid clogging the heat exchanger.


● If sewage is used as a cooling medium, or the waste heat of the sewage is recovered, or the medium contains granular solids, a filter or decontamination device should be installed at the inlet end of the plate to avoid clogging the heat exchanger.


● When the temperature of the cooling water (heated) exceeds 40°C, it should be softened as much as possible to avoid fouling of the heat exchanger and affect the heat transfer effect.


● Please check whether the pipeline connection is correct to avoid mixing of the two media, which may cause undesirable consequences.


● Strictly check whether the inlet valves of the cold and hot media are closed and the outlet valves are open before starting the equipment.


● The heat exchanger first starts the pumps of cold and heat medium, slowly opens the inlet valve of the cold medium, and then opens the inlet valve of the heat medium, so that the medium flows into the heat exchanger slowly. This is to avoid excessive temperature.


● Slowly heat up the heat exchanger to determine and calculate whether the process requirements are met. Normal operation can only be entered after the requirements are met.
